ACCLIMATION & DIPPING GUIDE
A calm, consistent arrival process helps every new coral settle into your reef. Prepare a clean workspace, fresh saltwater, gloves, a timer, and a stable placement area before opening the box.
1. INSPECT ON ARRIVAL
Confirm the shipment and bags are intact. Photograph any concern before opening and keep the order label handy.
2. TEMPERATURE ACCLIMATE
Float the sealed bag briefly so the temperature can begin to equalize. Avoid prolonged exposure to shipping water once the bag is opened.
3. PREPARE CLEAN WATER
Use water from your established display or quarantine system in clean containers. Keep tools and containers dedicated to aquarium use.
4. INSPECT AND DIP
Examine the frag plug, base, and tissue under bright white light. If you use a coral dip, follow that product’s label exactly. Never mix dips or add dip solution to your aquarium.
5. RINSE AND PLACE
Rinse the coral in a separate container of clean saltwater. Begin in a lower-light, moderate-flow area unless the individual listing says otherwise.
6. FIRST 24 HOURS
Allow time for the coral to open. Avoid repeated handling, sudden lighting changes, and direct high flow. Watch for tissue damage, pests, excessive mucus, or continued recession.
